Is there a place in this world that you run to where you feel safe and secure, inspired, more alive? I go west along the eastern shores of Lake Michigan to Holland, one of many picturesque towns along the western coast of Michigan. Interestingly, it was named the most secure mid-sized city in the U.S. I like walking the downtown corridor with its Victorian-era architecture, unique shops and restaurants and brick-paved streets. Founded by the Dutch, and with visitors from all over the world, it’s easy to feel like I’ve traveled much further than the three hours it takes me to drive there.
